The Basic Formula
A general-purpose potting mix for most plants:
- 40% Cocopeat – for moisture retention and structure
- 30% Perlite – for drainage and aeration
- 20% Vermiculite – for moisture and nutrient holding
- 10% Neem Cake or Honge Powder – for organic nutrition and pest protection
Mixes for Specific Plants
Succulents & Cacti
- 50% Perlite + 30% Cocopeat + 20% garden soil
Leafy Vegetables & Herbs
- 40% Cocopeat + 30% Vermiculite + 20% Perlite + 10% Neem Cake
Flowering Plants
- 40% Cocopeat + 30% Perlite + 20% Vermiculite + 10% Honge Powder
Tips for Best Results
- Always moisten cocopeat before mixing
- Use low EC cocopeat for seedlings to avoid salt stress
- Add neem cake to protect against soil-borne pests
- Refresh your soil mix every 12–18 months
